Impact on performance?

How does this profiler impact the performance of the NAV application? Im interested in using this profiler to meassure the performance of pages and codeunits, but would like to know how much I can "trust" the results shown in the profiler. If the NAV performance drops because of the profiler running, then how can I use this profiler to make a conclusion on the performance?

Hi,

Any other running processes will have an impact on performance but the question is: will the profiler have a significant impact? Most of the work done by the profiler is when the profile session is stopped. During the profile session is only collecting the events.

If you are really concerned about the impact of the profiler you can try collecting the NAV trace events using the Performance Monitor (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn271688(v=nav.80).aspx) and then loading the ETL file into the Profiler to analyze the trace.

We have measured the cost of logging trace events to be insignificant.
